Letters to the Editor

People still read newspapers despite what you are told, especially in government. Tell them what you think about marine parks and the Governments current policy.

Write a letter to the Editor

  • Pick the newspaper or publication that is most relevant to your region. If your issue is a local one, target your local community paper too.
  • Check out their Letters to the Editor page for examples, but they like it short.
  • Email lots and from you and your friends. The Editor won’t pick them all, but keep going, the Editors take note of your enthusiasm and you will get there eventually.
  • We suggest saying something that talks about us the need for new marine parks and the importance of protecting our unique oceans. Please focus on positive things we can all do, don’t attacking other legal activities like fishing.
  • Make each one different and personal. Why this issue is important to you rather than other campaign people.
